creating the future.
Message
I believe that entrepreneurs are individuals who, with unwavering conviction, take on the challenge of creating the future. They are often alone and risking everything.
I deeply respect and admire such entrepreneurs. I believe in their potential, so much that I sometimes get caught up in their whirlwind. As an investor, I am compelled to support them and feel the joy of accompanying them on their challenging journeys.
Biography
My grandfather was an entrepreneur who founded a small processing company in post-war Japan. Inspired by him, my father became a banker, wanting to support entrepreneurs. I grew up watching my father and grandfather. Naturally, I found myself in a role supporting entrepreneurs.
I aspired to be a certified public accountant. It was a position that offered the opportunity to work closely with business leaders. So I pursued an MBA to gain international experience and shape a career closer to management. I then chose a consulting firm as a practical place to serve as a corporate strategist. Driven by the desire to support entrepreneurial challenges and immerse myself in the field of management, I jumped into a startup.
At GCP, my role is to support the management of our portfolio companies. However, it is presumptuous to call what we do “management support.” After all, what can I offer to entrepreneurs who are risking everything?
Perhaps nothing, but maybe something.
With these internal conflicts, I aim to support as many entrepreneurs as I can through their challenges. Additionally, I want to evolve venture capital itself into an entity that does this systemically.
I look forward to the challenge of creating Japan’s future alongside entrepreneurs.
