I believe that the allure of startups lies in their ability to create a future that exceeds imagination, one filled with excitement and possibilities.
Looking at Japan’s recent competitiveness on the global stage, I aspire to transform it into a country that future generations can be proud of, leveraging the power of startups.
I aim to be a supportive presence, cheering on and assisting aspiring entrepreneurs in their ambitious endeavors.
Biography
I was born into a multi-generational family business and grew up with an entrepreneurial father. In my house, discussions about management and business were commonplace at the dinner table. Additionally, I was raised in Malaysia, a country known for its diversity. This also shaped my identity through my formative years.
Amidst the diverse tapestry of languages, nationalities, and cultures that make up the world, I often found myself pondering my own identity, what it means to be “management,” what it means to be part of a company. Alongside a vague sense of unease, I harbored a strong curiosity for something intangible and grand. My childhood was a time of endless fascination.
Driven by a simple curiosity to explore broader horizons, I started my career as a broadcaster. The work involved lots of communication with various individuals, thanks to which I gained multifaceted perspectives beyond my own. I worked alongside top-tier politicians, celebrities, and athletes—individuals I would never have encountered otherwise. They provided me with invaluable experiences that shattered my preconceptions and became invaluable assets.
Many people express surprise at my transition from broadcasting to venture capital, but I've recently come to realize that there are common threads between the two fields. The broadcasters I admire always highlight the brilliance of their guests, step back to understand the big picture, and flexibly provide support to facilitate smooth discussions. It is a testament to their professionalism.
If you think of entrepreneurs as the sun and VCs as the moon, we exist to support entrepreneurs in shining their brightest. As part of a specialized team focused on value creation within GLOBIS Capital Partners, I approach this role with pride as a professional, eager to support the outstanding entrepreneurs we encounter.
